LAHORE?-?Pakistan Railways (PR) has failed to finalize a program to run special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr due to shortage of engines, bogies and fuel. In previous years, PR authorities managed to run special Eid trains to different cities to facilitate passengers who wanted to spend the occasion with family and friends. This move enabled PR to earn huge profits. However, PR has withdrawn the decision to run special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr this year, due to the financial crunch the department is presently facing. Railway officials said that they wanted to assist the passengers, but shortage of engines, bogies and fuel has left them with no viable options.
