Pope Benedict XVI attacks media for creating ?profane? Church services

The Pope has claimed that Church services around the world are ?profane? because of the way the media twisted the intentions of the Second Vatican Council, it has emerged today.

The outgoing Pope Benedict XVI accused the media of hijacking the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s and making it a ?Council of the Media? rather than a ?Council of the Fathers?.

He blamed the media for promoting a liturgy as a ?community act? made ?profane? and ?understandable?.

The Pope was speaking at a meeting with parish priests and clergy of the Diocese of Rome in the Paul VI Hall
